The Lovely Eggs return with an explosive new single 'I Shouldn't Have Said That'. Lurching, reeling and spitting with anger and regret, the song perfectly encapsulates the kitchen-sink realism of a good old verbal brawl.

Heavier that anything they've done before, the track is inspired by the motoric Krautrock of Neu!, with David's drum beats laying the foundation for a blistering, in-your-face slice of punk rock attitude and Holly's vocals a screaming drawl, with swirling synths and distorted guitar providing an intense psychedelic squall.

'I Shouldn't Have Said That' was produced by legendary engineer Dave Fridmann (The Flaming Lips, Mercury Rev), flinging the resolutely DIY Eggs into a whole new world. The result is spectacular. Far more ambitious and raucous than their previous work, 'I Shouldn't Have Said That' is a blistering, searing, highly-charged punk rock number.

Released on limited edition black and white 7' vinyl and accompanied by bespoke artwork by Turner-Prize nominated outsider artist David Shrigley, the single is backed by brand new exclusive B Side 'Melody For Meathead' - yet another in-your-face rant, this time taking on the nationalistic Mail-reading meatheads of Great Britain.

The Lovely Eggs have been nudging towards a heavier sound with their previous album This Is Our Nowhere, which was praised by the NME, who called them; 'One of the country's most beloved underground bands.' They have built up a cult following and sold out gigs across the UK, as well as gaining support from 6 Music and Radio One. With SIX BBC 6 music sessions under their belt, Marc Riley declared their last two singles "Goofin' Around (in Lancashire)" and "Drug Braggin'" his official top tracks of 2015 and 2016.

The pair have played gigs all over the world, from scrap yards in Los Angeles to industrial estates in France. They've toured Germany with Art Brut, played SXSW and done a 21-date tour of America - with nowhere to stay and only a beach towel to either lie on or lie under.

They have shared the stage with Half Japanese, Shonen Knife, Young Marble Giants and The Damned. Super Furry Animal Gruff Rhys produced their single 'Allergies' (which came out on the Too Pure label), Zane Lowe has sampled them for Scroobius Pip, and Tjinder Singh of Cornershop remixed their single 'Food.'
